I have been in contact with Karen and Fergal for over two years before their wedding day, and I can say a long term preparation definately paid off!
Karen and Fergal’s one was my first wedding in Rome, a city I love and find amazing for a destination wedding celebration.
I had met this couple a few years earlier on the occasion of Fergal’s sister’s wedding.
I was their wedding photography back then, and they contacted me again after several years.
Karen and Fergal live in Ireland with their families, but chose Rome for their wedding as they are sentimentally bound to it.
My day with them begun at Hotel Quirinale, where the couple got ready in two different rooms.
Karen got ready with her bridesmaids; they all wore pink gown for the occasion. The atmosphere was light and happy – a lovely moment.
Fergal, instead, got ready with his parents and his brother. The excitement could really be felt in the air!
The Basilica of San Silvestro in Capite were chosed to celebrate their wedding.
This church was founded back in the Eighth Century, and you could really feel the majesty of the early Catholic Church in that building.
The ceremony was solemn, intimate and really felt by all the attendees, bride and groom, together with their guests.
After the ceremony we had a couple photo session in the awesome Villa Borghese, one of the most beautiful gardens of the Capital.
Then, we had a walk in the city centre in the area of the Fontana di Trevi.
One says that if you throw a coin into the water of that fountain, you will surely return to Rome: a good plan for such an amazing city!
Once the couple shooting was over, we went to the beautiful Jardin de Russie in the namesake Hotel Russie, where the reception and party begun together with the couple’s guests.
A lovely wedding in the Eternal City – eternal, as this couple’s love.
