Greek Orthodox Wedding Venice
Venice has one beautiful Orthodox Church which is called Church of San Giorgio dei Greci, famous for its amazing golden decoration and for its paintings, realized by Greek painters during the XVI and XVII Centuries.
Eleanna and Yiannis lodged at the beautiful Ruzzini Palace Hotel, a few steps far from San Marco Square.
Her dress was hand made by the famous stylist from Athens Atelier Loukia, whose team works at the dresses for the Oscar Acedemy Awards, too – an amazing dress, light pink, decorated with beads and precious stones.
Yiannis and Eleanna reached the church separately – first went there Yiannis, with the guests. Eleanna took a covered Gondola to reach the church – the weather was not gracious to this Greek couple! Yiannis and Eleanna finally entered the church together, and had their Greek-Orthodox wedding celebrated in a breath-taking location.
The Pope put them on their rings (on the right middle finger, as the Orthodox tradition says), then one of the witnesses put on two decorated crowns on their heads. After drinking the blessing red wine and having had their walk around the church, they were declared husband and wife.
After the ceremony, Eleanna and Yiannis reached the Rialto Marked via water taxi, where the romantic photo session began.
Later on the couple shooting, Eleanna and Yiannis reached the typical Venetian Westin Europa & Regina Hotel, where among masks and flowers they had their wedding party.
After the first dance, they sat on their decorated tables to enjoy an Italian meal mixed up with the best details of the Greek cusine, along with their friends and relatives happily blessing the newlyweds.
